The video is focused on stepping into 100% responsibility and wonderment.
Key Concepts:
- Experiential Video 4 builds on the concepts you learned and practiced in Experiential Videos 1-3 and takes you a step further to bridge with your inner wisdom, your essence, and your entelechy about what is emerging next through you and for you. One definition of entelechy is: a vital force that directs an organism toward self-fulfillment. I heard Jean Houston tell a story about entelechy and how an acorn has the entelechy of a mighty oak. You and all human beings have many gifts and amazing possibilities that you may not even be aware of yet. I wonder… Does the acorn know it will become an oak? Claiming your ability to respond and stepping into wonderment is a way to invoke your magnificent possibilities in a specific situation and through ongoing practice, to create the space for your essence to emerge and become a guiding force in your life.
- Responsibility has a bad rap in today’s world. Many people believe responsibility is something that can be assigned to another person and is associated with guilt, shaming, blaming, caretaking, rescuing, martyrdom, or suffering. Conversely, what I mean by responsibility is opening to discover your authentic power and your ability to respond. Claiming your ability to respond is stepping into a more expanded consciousness than the consciousness where the problem or issue exists and truly becoming a creator in your life vs. feeling like a victim to your life, another person, or even to your habits and patterns.
- Wonderment opens the space to discovery and is a specific practice to expand your consciousness and discover something new. Stepping into wonderment is an effective way to discover how you want to respond to whatever is happening and what you want to create. Things you may choose to wonder about are: How might you learn, discover, communicate, let go, or move through to creating what you really want.
Keep in mind that wonderment is an expansive, child-like state of consciousness vs. the narrow consciousness of trying to figure something out. Ease and spaciousness and enjoyment are hallmarks of wonderment.
Invitation to a New Reality:
Stepping into responsibility and wonderment, you begin to see a new way and a new context for whatever is emerging in your life. New possibilities come into focus about what you want to do differently and how to create results you enjoy. You discover less spinning about in the same old problems, and discover new ways to move through the situations in your life. Gradually you realize that opening to discover and see things in a new way becomes your new context, if you choose, and you discover your own creative way of moving through your life, relationships, and in the world.
Time for Reflection:
When you feel complete, make any notes that you'd like to record, including asking yourself: Is there an easy measurable and pleasurable next step I'd like to take to move me in the direction I want to go? If so, by when do I agree with myself I will take that action?
