Inspired by Yogic and Tantric texts and philosophies, you will be guided to enhance your overall well-being, facilitate balance / healing, and expand your energy. Through powerful practices, time-tested over ages, you are supported to integrate the strands of your breath, intention, energy, will, and physical body to continually re-weave all the gifts granted to you as a human being into every aspect of your life.
What Kind of Yoga?Tantric Hatha Yoga comes from the Himalayan tradition of Sri Vidya. This scope of Yoga is a vast umbrella, a weave of the right hand path of Tantra, Patanjali (or classical) Yoga, and Ayurveda. This style of Yoga includes other types of Yoga, such as Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin, Restorative, Nidra, Power, Power, Bhakti, traditional Hatha, Meditation, Pranayama, Mudra, and more.
The underlying philosophy is that Yoga is Medicine. When we understand ourselves and what we need, and understand the specific quality that each practice yields, we can do the right practice in the right way at the right time to support ourselves. |
What to Practice
The scope of Yoga is much larger than most people realize - Yoga is not limited to the asanas / poses in Yoga classes! The "what" you will be guided to practice may include any or all of the following: Asana (Yoga poses), meditation, systematic relaxation, Pranayama and breathing practices, visualization, chanting, sounding, devotional, prayerful practices, and/ or healing practices for oneself or others. Practices are given specifically to match your needs.
How to Practice
How you practice is very important. The quality you bring into your practice is the quality you will expand in your body, mind and life.
Inspired by Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, you are invited to approach your practice with steadiness and sweet ease, versus straining, struggling, and shutting down your body, mind and energy. This approach creates strength at every level of your system and supports integration, balance, and pleasure-full joy. As these attitudes become grounded in you through your practice, you not only create a new, positive habit, you literally change your body, nervous system, and brain and discover a newly emerging you, who is increasingly strong, balanced and naturally joyful.
Bringing playful exploration and curiosity to your practice supports you to befriend yourself and life itself so that you open to the touch of inspiration and the divine. Play is a gateway to discovery of your newly emerging, evolutionary Self.

TESTIMONIALS
"Over time, doing yoga with Rhonda helped me come home to myself. It was never about perfection, but about how I felt in my body. Breath and awareness became more important than "am I doing it right?" -- Lisa B
"Rhonda Mills is an amazing teacher, who continually demonstrates enthusiasm for her work. She really values her clients, which is evident in the personal attention she gives. I always feel more grounded and centered after her yoga and dance classes, which allows me to be more of my authentic self." -- Susan R
"My first meeting with Rhonda was at my home for a private yoga session. The serenity and humaneness that radiated from her was apparent immediately upon opening my door. Rhonda is fully present when she teaches, in tune to the needs of each of her students and always positive and compassionate. I have experienced many yoga teachers and classes over the last 9 years, including some in Santa Fe and Sedona, and she still ranks at the very top. I continue to practice with Rhonda because she is intuitive and extremely knowledgeable about what poses best support my current needs, whether physical, spiritual or emotional. Rhonda has an amazing way of using descriptive language to help align your body to create ease and protect against muscle strain. I leave her classes feeling energized, peaceful, focused, grounded and renewed. In some other classes, I have felt a competitiveness or seriousness that is not comfortable. Rhonda has a lightness and playfulness to her that makes every class participant, whether a first timer or veteran, feel at home. I highly recommend Rhonda's classes: they are "the whole package!" -- Patti G
"Many years ago I attended Rhonda's basic yoga class with a co-worker who I thought could really benefit from yogic practices. I myself 'worked out' with gurus on Channel 9. Amazingly my friend attended several classes then quit but I kept going back. Competent bodily instruction emanated from Rhonda but more than that, I knew I was totally safe with her. There was Love in the room.
Now, after many years I have enjoyed the sometimes mildly scary pleasure of studying more deeply with Rhonda. Her expression of yoga has helped me delve into the best parts of myself and find expression for them as well. I am sincerely privileged to study with her. -- Laura G
